Most beer drinks have enjoyed a pint or two of a German beer. Whether it be a Weissbier, Kolsch, or Marzen (Oktoberfest!), German beers are ubiquitous throughout bars and liquor stores in the United States. In 2019, 11.2 million Germans consumed non alcoholic beer during the calendar year. We reviewed four German non alcoholic beers for their style, flavor, and production method.
In the United States, it can be a challenge to find gluten-free nonalcoholic beers. After a quick search on the major alcohol retailers (Amazon, Walmart, Total Wines), I was only able to find a few options, most of which were quite expensive. Given how fast the demand for non-alcoholic beer is growing in the US, I was surprised to see so few options readily available to online consumers.
It is often suggested to us that new or expecting parents would be a perfect target market for Point 5. But because we’re all engineers here at Point 5, we had to do some research first to find out: Is NA beer safe for pregnant women?
Before you grab an NA from your beer fridge and fly out the door for a drive, I’ll break down the legality for drinking NA while driving.
Different non alcoholic beers are best for different occasions and different preferences. Rather than just rate each beer, I'll provide a perspective on each non alcoholic beer brand from three vantage points: Style - alcoholic beer this is most similar to, Production method - arrested fermentation, distillation or membrane separation, Occasion - i.e. refreshment, with food, exploration etc.
